Summary
The Project Director role will lead and oversee key initiatives supporting our DSV Road Transport trucking operations' growth, efficiency, and compliance. This role will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering complex, cross-functional projects on time, within scope, and on budget. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of transportation logistics, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in driving successful change in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage company-wide initiatives across departments including: operations, logistics, safety, maintenance, and IT.
- Partner with executive leadership to define project scopes, goals, and deliverables that align with organizational strategy.
- Create and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, risk assessments, and resource allocations.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication to ensure transparency, alignment, and accountability.
- Monitor and report on project performance using key metrics, ensuring stakeholders are informed of progress, issues, and milestones.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to streamline workflows and increase operational efficiency.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with third-party contractors or consultants when needed.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, FMCSA standards, and company safety policies throughout project execution.
- Provide coaching and direction to project team members and support a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or a closely related field or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in project or program management, with at least 4 years in the transportation or logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. trucking industry regulations, logistics operations, and transportation technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- PMP or similar project management certification preferred.
