Role Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Professional Indemnity (PI) Underwriter to join our dynamic and innovative organization. This position offers a thrilling opportunity to enhance your skills and make a significant impact within our Financial Lines Underwriting team.

As a crucial member of our team, you will drive our objectives for profitability, growth, service excellence, and producer relations, with a specific focus on Professional Indemnity products in The Netherlands.

In this senior technical underwriting role, you will leverage your extensive expertise in Professional Indemnity products to assess risks and make strategic decisions. Your ability to analyse complex underwriting data, identify opportunities, and mitigate risks will be key to our ongoing success and expansion.

Additionally, you will build and maintain strong relationships with major customers and brokers. Your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills will help you earn their trust, understand their needs, and deliver tailored solutions that surpass their expectations. By proactively engaging with stakeholders, you will play a vital role in driving our business growth.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Working within the authority granted, writing a profitable book of Professional Indemnity business per the EIID Underwriting guidelines

  • Expand and maintain existing broker relationships and other sources of distribution, and developing new relationships, where this is consistent with the objectives set in the Business Plan

  • Quoting and leading the placements of Professional Indemnity clients, and effectively managing any specific MGA clients

  • To refer as appropriate risks exceeding prescribed underwriting authority

  • To liaise with the Claims Manager on claims related issues and participate in account and management reviews.

  • To participate in the underwriting peer review process at the weekly and monthly underwriting meetings, as required

  • To assist with the completion and review of strategic and underwriting guidelines & pricing models

  • To contribute to the regular analysis and review of underwriting practices and procedures

  • Ensure that documentation is completed timely and accurately according to EIID standards 

  • Collaborate with Everest colleagues in the International office locations

  • To monitor and keep abreast of changes in underwriting, regulation and compliance

Candidate Profile

Professional Experience:

  • Good understanding of underwriting in the Dutch insurance marketplace

  • Strong knowledge and experience of Underwriting Professional Indemnity product

  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
