The following is an overview of the role and what we are looking for in a successful candidate.
The Director of Capital Planning is responsible for helping to implement the strategic capital planning initiatives of the company. This position reports to the VP of Capital Planning and will play a crucial role in helping to identify and evaluating opportunities for network expansion, strategic acquisitions, and managing post-acquisition integration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and Vet Areas for Network Expansion: Conduct thorough market analysis and research to identify potential areas for network expansion. Evaluate market demand, competitive landscape, and build costs to make informed decisions regarding network expansion strategies.
  • Identify and Vet Acquisition Targets: Identify potential acquisition targets aligned with the company's growth objectives and strategic vision. Conduct comprehensive due diligence, financial analysis, and risk assessments to evaluate the viability and compatibility of acquisition opportunities.
  • Coordinate with State and Local Governments: Collaborate with state and local government officials to foster cooperation and support for network builds. Engage in negotiations, establish partnerships, and navigate regulatory frameworks to ensure successful project execution.
  • Help in building relationships with key stakeholders and industry influencers to influence decision-making processes.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional groups to develop repeatable processes to scale the department’s ability to initiate and vet expansion opportunities.
  • Manage and coordinate state and federal grant submissions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in developing and analyzing models with large and dynamic datasets
  • Interpersonal skills with demonstrated success at cultivating strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, advanced with Microsoft Excel; ability to learn and adapt to new software 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor’s degree
