Are you looking to create capability and competencies in Operational Excellence (OpEx) for the leader in the Medical Technology industry? 

As the Sr. OpEx Program Manager-Transactional Processes, you will be a core member of the Operational Excellence organization supporting IT/Finance/Regulatory and Legal functions. In this role, you will plan and execute process improvement objectives. These objectives encompass specific operational performance targets, as well as the development and training of employees to foster a sustainable culture of continuous improvement.

You will partner closely with cross-functional leaders to drive strategic and sustaining improvement efforts. By developing the skills and competencies of our teams to deliver life-saving products, you will be at the forefront of Medtronic's mission to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life.

As the Operational Excellence Program Manager, you will:

  • Guide, deploy, and execute the Medtronic Performance System (MPS), our “one best way” methodology and tools that support our holistic operational excellence program across the IT/Finance/Regulatory and Legal teams

  • Contribute to the overall Global Operations & Supply Chain organizational goals by identifying organizational needs required to achieve key performance indicators. Develop and execute plans that deliver annual improvements in performance, process excellence, and programmatic savings

  • Partner with IT/Finance/Regulatory and Legal teams to eliminate waste, improve process efficiency, and lead process and value stream transformation activities across prioritized workflows.

  • Develop process thinking, problem-solving skills, and a Value Stream mindset through MPS and Lean Six Sigma teaching, coaching, and mentoring.

  • Facilitate strategic kaizen events with functional/cross-functional teams to deliver improved performance.

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience in business operations, and/or operational excellence structures, or an advanced Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in business operations and/or operational excellence structures.

  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt  

Nice to Have:

  • Strong change management, coaching, and mentoring competency

  • Ability to influence change without direct authority

  • Solid understanding of IT/Finance/Regulatory and/or Legal organizations, and financial acumen with proven knowledge and experience in integrating continuous improvement   

  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including leading training courses in-person or virtually, with the ability to convey and communicate complex concepts simply and clearly

  • Practical experience in applying operational excellence methods in transactional environments with proven process improvement and cost savings success.

  • Project management skills with good time management, client relationship management, conflict resolution, training facilitation, and administrative skills

Working Conditions:  Travel typically 25% to 50%, but varies based on initiatives.
