Description

Responsible for day-to-day oversight, mentoring, education and evaluation of Hospital Services Team in collaboration with the Director, Hospital Services.  Responsible for the coordination of ongoing training, growth and development of staff.  Serve as a role model for MTN Behavioral Competencies.   

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

ADMINISTRATIVE:

  1. Guides designated Hospital Service staff toward accomplishment of MTN’s mission and goals by providing oversight and guidance with scheduling, training, and development, coaching and counseling.
    1. Directs work planning; approves time accounting and PTO requests, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
    2. Serves as a mentor to new staff by coordinating and/or participating in orientation and regular meetings/roundings to assess progress.
    3. Provides ongoing staff training to ensure compliance with policies and staff development.
    4. Assesses and guides performance of assigned staff through individual case progression and debriefings
  2. Collaborates with Hospital Services leadership for staff selection, performance reviews, salary and promotional recommendation and disciplinary action.
  3. Maintains current knowledge in the field through participation in NATCO and AOPO.
  4. Maintains professional relationships and rapport with MTN leadership and staff, and external stakeholders.
  5. Actively and positively promotes the Mission and goals of MTN at all times.
  6. Provides information and interactions with MTN leadership on issues surrounding external stakeholders to maintain a high level of service and support.
  7. Assists the Chief Stakeholder Engagement Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Director, Hospital Services, and the Quality Systems Department in collecting and analyzing data to assist in research and/or improvement activities.
  8. Participates in Strategic Planning teams to help fulfill MTN strategic planning goals.

HOSPITAL SERVICES

  1. Remains available for 24-hour telephone support for Hospital Services staff.
  2. Performs all responsibilities of a Hospital Services Coordinator (HSC).
  3. Ensures a smooth and efficient workflow of HSC job responsibilities, including in the absence of one or more team members, by providing direct assistance with job duty coverage, if necessary, to ensure deadlines are met and work is completed on time.   
  4. Performs competency audits to assess compliance to policy and procedures. 
  5. Regularly assesses and guides performance of assigned staff through individual case progression and debriefings.
  6. Collaborates with Director, Hospital Services and Chief Stakeholder Engagement Officer to develop and implement hospital engagement strategies based on needs analysis. 
  7. Serves as a resource to Hospital Services team to navigate hospital and FH/ME relationships, policies, and procedures.
  8. Serves as an internal consultant in developing professional education programs to ensure accuracy and integrity of information, and consistency of content.
  9. In collaboration with Director, Hospital Services, develops and updates educational materials to ensure content relevance and consistency. 
  10. Ensures Hospital Services Orientation plan remains current by regularly updating resources. 
  11. Actively participates in the planning and development of external stakeholder educational program planning and execution.
  12. Regularly assesses and identifies opportunities for improvement in hospital relationships and supports improvement initiatives.
  13. Coordinates and serves as lead to plan, develop and facilitate monthly Hospital Services department meetings.
