JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Staff Accountant will assist the Assistant Controller with accounting and related functions to ensure appropriate monitoring, approving, processing, reporting, and auditing of any process.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with account reconciliation process between subsidiary ledgers and the general ledger.
- Assist with account reconciliation process for monthly close activities.
- Assist with the troubleshooting and resolving of problems in any account.
- Assist with the preparation of government or statutory filings.
- Provide backup for other team members within the department.
- Ensure accounting records are properly maintained and organized.
- Assist with the reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
- Assist with the reconciliation of payroll and commissions accounts.
- Assist the treasury department with banking functions.
- Support annual financial audit with audit schedules and document retrieval.
- Endeavor to learn and assist with adoption occasional new accounting standards.
- Endeavor to maintain or expand knowledge of GAAP.
- Identify better ways of getting work done.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree.
- Preferred Advanced Education: CPA, MBA, or CMA.
- Experience Years: 5-10 years.
- Experience Type: prefer audit experience in a public accounting firm that includes manufacturing industry audits, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiar with ERP systems.
- Familiar with advanced data management techniques in Excel.
