About the Opportunity

Our National IT team has an immediate opening for a Senior Manager – IT Technology, reporting to the Vice President.

Responsible for managing employees the areas focused on managing the NY Markets Technology Services Manager Team. Manages the oversight of areas including: planning, analysis, reporting, establishing policies and processes for effectively managing IT architecture, incident response and resolution, service level agreement management, investments, resources, service design, testing, deployment, support and contingency. Supports the implementation of department plans and assists in controlling resources and policy information in the technical area. Receives guidance from senior management. Manager level position manages individual contributors and supervisors. Responsible for hiring, performance issues and appraisals, and pay reviews. Performs additional incidental duties as assigned. Position will have direct reports.

What You Will Do:

  • Manages staff and orchestrates team efforts to meet critical business objectives and make significant contributions to attaining goals in areas related to managing the business of IT.
  • Develops and implements business and operational standards. Reviews business and system requirements, operational needs, and other criteria to ensure efficient operations in areas related to managing the business of IT.
  • Oversees the execution and adherence of policies, procedures and processes for FRIT, ensuring the strategies and activities are consistent with the business objectives and goals.
  • Identifies and advocates changes in business and administration area, and/or operations with focus to improve/increase reliability, maximize performance, and reduce costs. Recommends policy changes and process improvements to align with departmental goals and business/client needs.
  • Consults with Division management on divisional strategies and organization, leadership, and staff performance matters. Areas of activity include talent management through proper succession planning programs for key contributors, training and development programs to help position staff for success and more significant responsibilities and to enhance employee knowledge and understanding of the Federal Reserve System, national IT, and FRIT. Key participant in performing personnel actions (i.e., hiring, terminations, promotions, performance appraisal, and training).
  • Participates in the department's resource management process. Plans and executes a course of action based on sound business decisions, and works to effectively identify potential cost-saving opportunities, and resolve resource constraints. Improves and supports business activities through ensuring objectives, goals and client needs are met.
  • Represents department in organization level projects and task forces to enhance relationships, communications, services and address critical.
  • Leads cross-functional team initiatives and Department process improvements. Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 7 to 10 years of relevant work experience / 1+ year of supervisory experience.
  • Technical skills and knowledge about integrating IT services with the business.  This also includes knowledge for cloud and COLO migrations.
  • Advanced working knowledge of department/business lines, Reserve Banks, and / or System operations, policies, procedures and technologies.
  • Demonstrated management-level expertise to effectively direct functions in in a rapidly growing business environment. Influences others to gain support for ideas or accept a desired course of action. Shapes the direction of others and motivates through inspiring commitment, trust, and respect.
  • Excellent customer service skills and demonstrated ability
