This position is contingent on contract award. Candidates must have an active Secret clearance and verify, before applying, that you meet the minimum requirements of the position.

JANUS Research Group is supporting the Mission Command Battle Lab (MCBL) at Fort Leavenworth, KS. The MCBL is the Army Futures Command’s (AFC) premier lab for experimentation on the Command and Control (C2) Warfighting Function, Echelons Above Brigade and the integration of all Warfighting Functions. MCBL investigates emerging concepts and technologies, and explores the deep future through experimentation, studies, and prototyping to inform C2 capability development and Echelons Above Brigade modernization efforts. MCBL proposes solutions within the Science and Technology community, the generating force, and operational force.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide Program Management support.
  • Provide leadership and support to the PM structure, organization, capabilities, and services necessary to meet performance factors and requirements of the contract.
  • Responsible for all aspects of program delivery as well as maximizing contract revenue and profit.
  • Responsible for interfacing with and briefing Government personnel (Military and Civilian) of all ranks including General Officers, GS-15s and C-Level Staff. Provide support and maintain relationships with customers and Installation Contracting offices and act as a central point of contact for assigned contracts with the Contracting Officer (KO) and the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) on all contractual matters relating to the daily operations and the MCBL contract.
  • Responsible for the overall cost, schedule, and performance health of all programmed activities.
  • Develop, implement, oversee, and improve as necessary those processes and procedures required to address and satisfy the Government's contractually defined objectives while minimizing the cost, schedule, and performance risk of contract performance.
  • Lead and direct technical and administrative project team(s) and execute and monitor project activities.
  • Manage changes to scope, cost and schedule of project work.
  • Coordinate priorities and resources between multiple projects.
  • Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, updating project plans, approving expenditures, and making decisions about department related purchases.
  • Provide updates on customer and corporate issues participating in scheduled operational meetings as in routine with team leads and employees.
  • Provide monthly feedback on status of work to the KO/COR.
  • Coordinate cross-functional meetings of personnel related to project.
  • Facilitate sessions to effectively resolve issues if any.
  • Allocate appropriate resources to ensure projects are completed within given time and budget.
  • Utilize corporate ISO processes to track project schedule and cost.
  • Report status, develop project-related documentation and implement lessons learned.
  • Participate in project performance review meetings and discussions.
  • Participate in corporate business development activities.
  • Be available during core work hours 0730 to 1630, Monday through Friday, except federal holidays or when the facility is closed.
  • Responsible for developing and accessing documentation in the form of reports, proposals, white papers, and briefings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Security Clearance: Secret required.
  • United States Citizenship
  • BA or BS from an accredited university
  • Experienced military operators with field-grade level knowledge; desire is Army service of greater than 10 years with experiences in Army, Joint, and coalition operations at the division or higher echelon.
  • 5 years’ experience as a team leader or program manager in support of Army or Joint requirements.
  • Planning experience for complex activities equivalent to that of an annual experimentation program and major experiment or experiment series, such as events that are comprised of multiple events such as workshops leading to a Simulation Experiment.
  • Ability to identify potential Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions to identified gaps is desired.
  • Completion of IA Level I Training within 30 days of contract start date
  • Other duties as outlined, such as providing analytical and scenario support to the event, as well as conducting futures research and foresight activities.
