Sr. Materials Program Manager
About the Role:
As part of the supplier engineering function, the Sr. Material Program Manager (MPM) serves as the central facilitator between Global Sourcing (GS) and project teams to drive supply chain optimization. In this project management role, the incumbent partners with cross-functional engineering and technology category teams and applies technical expertise to mitigate risks, and create material development plans, while driving component production readiness and value improvement.
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing an understanding of new products, key design features, internal processes, logistics, key components and suppliers, and overall business case
- Collaborating with cross functional teams (PMO, R&D, PD) to identify material and component risks, create material action plans, and drive to completion
- Influencing design, process, and supplier through subject matter expert input and data
- Developing knowledge of key components and related features, suppliers and supplier processes
- Executing supplier management projects and contingency plans; delegate tasks, track project schedules, and identify risks
- Removing and mitigating roadblocks that impact project success; communicate project status with key stakeholders
- Identifying resource allocation needs, changes in project requirements, and other potential issues
- Facilitating efforts between project and category teams to drive component production readiness, cost reduction, and design for manufacturability
- Partnering with direct purchasing and project teams to procure required materials on time
- Identifying continuous improvement opportunities to drive efficiency for the Material Program Management team and support the product life cycle process
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline with a minimum of 3 years engineering experience
- Project management experience with ability to create process flows and execute deliverables
Preferred qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of medical device industry experience
- Experience managing large-scale and complex projects involving multiple functions and sites
- Ability to navigate ambiguous situations with strong conflict management and resolution skills
- Strong leadership skills with ability to influence change and drive performance cross-functionally
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals on all levels (written and verbally)
- Results-oriented, strong organizational skills; ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; analytical and process-driven
- Customer service oriented with strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain relationships
