ALL ABOUT ASSETS PROTECTION 

Assets Protection (AP) teams' function to keep our guests, team and brand safe and secure and lead through crisis events. They protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing, investigating, and resolving theft and fraud to ensure products are available for our guest.

The Director of Asset Protection Data Analytics will lead a team of analysts and product owners who work across product, engineering, operations, and strategy teams to deliver insights, analysis, and reporting to support various critical functions at Headquarters (HQ), Supply Chain and in Stores.  You will be working in a dynamic and challenging environment where new technologies are deployed constantly, and processes are evolving quickly as these operations mature.

The Target Data Analytics team creates metrics, models, and data products to sustainably educate and enable our business partners to make great data-based decisions.  We help develop the technology that personalizes the guest experience, from business operations to relevant guest experience. 

A role within our Data Analytics group means being a part of the team that enables faster, smarter, and more scalable decision-making to compete and win the modern retail market! Here, you will leverage data, statistics, and visualization to create actionable insights that deliver value across all Target functions.  Our savvy reporting and analytics pros use market-leading tools and data automation to make a positive impact that is felt across the business.

As a Director of Data Analytics, you will take the lead as you:

  • Work with AP and Stores Operations partners to define a problem, find the requisite data and propose solutions based on data analysis
  • Understand and anticipate problems and move to solve them quickly
  • Create and automate reporting and insights at scale that informs and influences business decisions
  • Democratize data and insights as you strive to deliver self-service tools to your partners and enable them to make better decisions quicker
  • Provide thought leadership in how we measure a business area through the application of insights, analysis, and derivation of reporting functionality
  • Incorporate data-based approaches to hold products and businesses accountable for results against goals and objectives
  • Effectively communicate and educate business leaders by leveraging data analysis, insights, testing and measurement
  • Influence business leaders, peers, and technology partners to mature data foundations, analytics capabilities and mathematical applications that drive the business

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in applied mathematics, Statistics, Economics or other related quantitative field
  • 7+ years of experience developing Business Intelligence (BI), Data Science solutions including analysis, design, testing and report development
  • Ability to work and lead an agile, engaged, and effective team
  • Influential - able to engage and negotiate with business leaders and teams
  • Inquisitive on BI and
