We conduct a Family Medicine Residency, Internal Medicine Residency, Cardiology Fellowship, Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship, PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and a School of Radiologic Technology. MercyOne North Iowa is a clinical training site for approximately 500 students from 127 different colleges enrolled in programs for medical laboratory, nursing, paramedic, rehabilitation, medical assistants, pastoral services, physicians and many other medical fields.

Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Retail Coordinator!

As a Retail Coordinator at MercyOne, you will exceed customer expectations regarding DME (Durable Medical Equipment) service and knowledge of equipment/merchandise and ordering and managing inventory levels.  Perform duties in a manner consistent with medical center philosophy and policy in areas relating to accounts receivable, public relations, and third-party relations.

• Works closely with DME Supervisor and Manager to develop marketing and sales promotions to

• strengthen the store's position in our area including open houses.

• Has knowledge of requirements and can determine cash sale vs. insurance eligible items. 

• Balances cash drawer with cash receipts and makes appropriate deposits.

• Orders and manages inventory to maximize ROI and customer satisfaction.

• Communicates and educates other departments, physicians and their office staff and nursing personnel regarding products available and to obtain clarity in orders, when needed.

• Trains and assigns duties to retail staff, schedules, oversees and provides input on evaluations and counseling of Retail Specialists (if any located at the store).

• Coordinates staffing requirements for the Shop.

• For appropriate sales, generates sales order ticket, including client demographics, completes ABN (when applicable) and billing information to allow DME Billing Coordinators to produce a bill.

• Assists customers politely, promptly and accurately with equipment and merchandise needs. 

• Demonstrates excellent verbal and listening skills. Asks clarifying questions to service the customer's needs and provide excellent customer service.

• Maintains patient's right to confidentiality.

General Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

• Associates of Arts preferably in a healthcare related field preferred 

• Completion of medical terminology course or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a medical setting, required.

• Must demonstrate competence in a medical insurance setting and experience with medical equipment and related products.

• Retail experience and/or customer service experience required, preferably in a DME setting.

• Previous management experience preferred
