This is a/an 80 % full-time equivalency (FTE) job. This position will work 30 hours per week. This position is eligible for benefits associated with any full-time position. The salary grade and range listed in the posting is reflective of a 100% Full-time position. Full-time equivalency job offers may fall outside of the listed range due to the assigned percentage of effort.
POSITION SPECIFICS
The College of Engineering’s Graduate Program in Acoustics seeks to fill the vital position of Academic Program Coordinator for the Acoustics World Campus/Distance Education Graduate Program.
The successful candidate will be part of the administrative team that supports department functions and enables full-time working professionals to earn a Master of Engineering degree or a Graduate Certificate in Acoustics entirely online.
The role involves working closely with the Acoustics Program Director, the Faculty in Charge of the Distance Education Program, World Campus, The Graduate School, and the program’s administrative support manager, as well as engaging and professionally communicating with students, faculty, and staff.
The Academic Program Coordinator will work both independently and collaboratively when completing this position’s responsibilities, which include but are not limited to:
Serve as the initial contact for prospective and current degree, nondegree, and certificate students and independently research and respond to all inquiries related to the Distance Education Program.
Coordinate the student admissions process (e.g., communicate with and update prospective students, organize and submit applications for faculty review).
Schedule courses for the Distance Education Program in coordination with the Resident Student Program Coordinator, the Faculty in Charge of the Distance Education Program, and the Acoustics Program Director.
Assist in compiling and maintaining an online collection of syllabi for courses taught within Acoustics; shares copies of syllabi with students as needed.
Assist faculty teaching distance education courses in administrative processes, such as coordinating proctors for exams with the students.
