PRINCIPAL SOLUTIONS ENGINEER
As a Principal Solutions Engineer you are responsible for solving the world’s most difficult communications problems. You’ll leverage Starlink’s engineering power to create ground-breaking solutions for our customers that let them work smarter, faster and accomplish things they didn’t think were possible.
You will work across many engineering disciplines (software, networking, mechanical engineering, RF etc.) and understand Starlink from the ground network to the satellite’s laser links. You will marry this knowledge with deep insight into customer goals. The result will be solutions that delight our customers and push their businesses forward.
To succeed in this role, you must be a technically excellent and highly detail-oriented interdisciplinary problem solver. You must be a self-starter and have a passion for making things work in high-impact situations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work across all Starlink engineering disciplines to develop novel solutions.
- Understand customer needs and goals at a deep level.
- Participate fully as an engineer implementing solutions– not just a party creating requirements.
- Directly support the largest and most strategic Starlink customers to ensure that the Starlink product meets technical expectations and resolve technical issues when they arise.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, network, and business operations teams to define and implement product requirements and capabilities that address enterprise and government customer needs.
- Support sales teams with technical pre-sales support, acting as the technical subject matter expert and engineering representative in customer interactions and proposal review.
- Develop processes and guides to streamline customer integration with Starlink network and equipment.
- Test and document enterprise customer APIs and other customer-facing technical tools.
- Produce technical case studies demonstrating integration details and value proposition of Starlink in enterprise market verticals.
- Lead technical discussions and integration efforts with 3rd party partners and system integrators.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- 10+ years of experience working in the aerospace or space industry
- 5+ years of technical project management, systems engineering, or Government space systems acquisition experience
- Experience working with launch vehicles, spacecraft, or other aerospace systems
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and deliver reliable and expeditious results across multiple parallel priorities
- Highly detail oriented, hardworking, and professional with excellent written and verbal technical communication skills
- Spacecraft mission design, development, integration, and/or test experience
- Experience in software engineering or experience directly working with software engineering teams
- Experience at an early-stage technology startup or program that scaled rapidly
- Ability to assess market trends that indicate business opportunities several years in the future
- Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
- A TS/SCI clearance is helpful, but not required
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- An active clearance may provide the opportunity for you to work on sensitive SpaceX missions; therefore, you will be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Principal Solutions Engineer: $165,000.00 - $230,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
