Job Description

We are looking for a driven, naturally curious Senior Data Engineer to join our Digital Experiences team delivering cloud native Big Data solutions within our global Media ecosystem. Our engineering teams work with data on a massive scale and are responsible for the design, development, and continuous innovation of best-in-class solutions supporting P&G as one of the largest digital advertisers in the world.

As a Senior Data Engineer you will:

• Work as a key member of a multi-disciplinary product team including engineers, product managers, and designers delivering innovative digital solutions following Agile & DevOps best practices

• Lead the design and development of cloud native and high-performance Big Data solutions to real business problems variety of technologies including Python, Google Cloud, and more

• Work with advanced analytics technologies to solve data and computation challenges at a large scale (including Petabyte scale solutions)

• Lead translation of business requirements to detailed technical designs

• Lead technical research, prototyping, estimation, options analyses, and proposals related to the data-intensive components of business, software and technology objectives

• Write and review testable, efficient code ensuring all code complies with company and industry standards for quality and security.

• Contribute to reusable data processing patterns and code to drive scale and productivity across engineering teams

• Invest in the growth of other engineers through mentoring, knowledge-sharing, tech talks, pair programming and/or other means

• Actively participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospective meetings, ensuring deliverables are met within the agreed timelines.

Job Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional data engineering experience with Python

• 2+ years professional experience driving engineering best practices, incl. documentation, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, CI/CD, Agile, testing, and operations

• Strong SQL knowledge

• Strong data analysis and debugging skills

• Professional certification or Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Engineering or related field

• Ability to communicate technical concepts to teammates and non-technical colleagues

• Strong English communication and interpersonal skills

Nice to have:

• GCP Professional level certification or 2+ years building cloud solutions on GCP, AWS, or Azure

• Spark and DataBricks knowledge

• 2+ years of experience contributing to data modeling or architecture
