(Job #548640) Library Services Specialist III, User Account Services Coordinator, Salary Range: $4,162 - $7,673. This is a full-time, benefited, non-exempt, 12-month pay plan permanent position with a one-year probationary period in Circulation Services.  This position comes with a premium benefits package that includes outstanding vacation, medical, dental, and vision plans, life insurance, voluntary pre-tax health and dependent care reimbursement accounts, a fee waiver education program, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), and 14 paid holidays per year. Position Summary:

This position coordinates Library User Account Services and related library systems, opening the library Tuesday – Saturday as well as providing oversight of library operations and enhanced services to students, staff, faculty and community users during weekday and weekend hours.

 

Key Responsibilities:

User Account Services, Systems, and Workflow – 60%

Manages user account functionality in Alma, ensuring the integrity of user data, user groups, associated loan and item policies. Implement policy settings as determined in collaboration with the Access Services faculty lead. Uses, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs ID card functions, database, and equipment. Liaison to University Center, Dining and Housing Services, ID vendors, and other campus departments on ID related policies, procedures, and workflow. Works closely with Information Technology Services and Library Systems to ensure quality and accuracy of patron loads. Oversees and resolves billing questions and disputes in coordination with the Access Services faculty lead.

 

Resource Sharing – 20%

Assists with day-to-day ILL operations and supports resource sharing processes in the absence of the Resource Sharing Coordinator. Implements policy guidelines for loan conditions, item availability, and resource sharing eligibility with approval of the Faculty Lead and Library Dean. Supports the troubleshooting of problem requests and citations, verifies bibliographic information and conducts searches related to requests using library and discipline-specific databases.

 

General Access Services Functions – 15%

Responsible for opening the Library Tuesday-Saturday (Tuesday-Friday opening at 7:30am, Saturday opening at 11:00am) when classes are in session. Outside of the fall and spring semesters, work schedule may change to Monday-Friday. May be asked to close on occasion and work extended hours during finals.

Participates in Access Services operations and workflows in collaboration with library staff and student assistants. Participates in customer-facing operations, including processing and circulating materials, answering questions at the front desk during business hours, and ID production. Participates in planning and developing unit goals and objectives utilizing knowledge of operations, policies, and best practices.
