Job Overview
The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (Illinois EPA) is seeking a highly qualified individual with a strong background in the Illinois Leaking Underground Storage Tank (“Leaking UST”) regulations, Tiered Approach to Corrective Action Objectives regulation, and Environmental Protection Act to serve as Manager of Unit B. The successful candidate will plan and direct the State-wide activities of the Illinois EPA’s Leaking UST Program, consisting of technical, accounting, and administrative support. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations, set priorities for the Program, ensure remediation is completed in accordance with regulations and ensure project reviews and reimbursements from the UST Fund are completed within regulatory timeframes.

Essential Functions
- Serves as Unit B Manager for the Bureau of Land (BOL), Leaking Underground Storage Tanks (LUST) Section in accordance with regulations pertaining to 35 Illinois Administrative Code, Part 731 and Part 734.
- Serves as full-line supervisor by planning, directing, and managing/supervising professional and technical staff in the Leaking Underground Storage Tank Section.
- Directs professional and technical staff in highly complex, sensitive and controversial issues:
- Represents the Unit, Section, Bureau and the Agency at meetings and conferences.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
