POSITION SUMMARY

Are you a strategic and detail-oriented leader passionate about public service and workforce development? Join the Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) as a Classifications and Class Studies Supervisor, where you will play a critical role in shaping the State’s workforce infrastructure. In this position, you will lead a talented team of HR professionals responsible for administering statewide class specifications, organizational structure changes, position actions and other technical aspects. You’ll collaborate with agency stakeholders to ensure compliance with rules, codes, polices, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements, while also driving process improvements and modernizing classification systems. We’re looking for a seasoned professional with a strong background in human resources, a deep understanding of classification policies, and a passion for mentoring others. POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Subject to administrative approval, serves as the Classifications and Class Studies Supervisor, monitoring to provide direct oversight and administration to the Classifications and Class Studies Units within the Bureau of Personnel’s (BoP) Personnel Integrity Division.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and administers all actions related to class specifications, organizational structure, position actions, systems, and records maintenance services providing consultation decision making on various issues.
  • In collaboration with the Assistant Deputy Director of Personnel Integrity; plans, develops, implements, monitors, and manages policy and operational aspects of the Class Studies and Classifications units.
  • Performs special projects on various organizational structure, personnel, and position issues frequently of a highly sensitive and confidential nature.
  • Serves as full line supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of (4) four years of college.
  • Requires prior experience equivalent to four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience with class specifications,
