Job Details

The AP Lead will understand full cycle accounts payable and be able to analyze expenses to ensure costs are coded to the correct cost centers in accordance with company policies. This individual will be working with the AP Associates on constant process improvements and complex problem solving. They will assist in the Month-End Close process, Audits, Ad-Hoc projects, and be an ambassador for the Accounts Payable and Accounting team with external Vendors and internal departments.

• Assist in overseeing daily operations of the accounts payable.
• New hire and ongoing training of the AP staff
• Manage AP check runs.
• Make sure subs are processed and paid per payment schedule.
• Manage the American Express accounts/cards.
• Prepare Amex breakdown for payment approval.
• Verify invoice authorizations for payments are followed.
• Create a reference book on AP processes and procedures.
• Fill in and help AP team as needed.
• Month end close duties as assigned.
• Ensure AP month end tasks are completed per deadlines.
• Communicate/work with field management on issues as they arise.
• Assist in managing the new AP software system and training the AP staff on it.
• Ensure AP records and files are maintained and stored properly.
• Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

• At least 2-3 years of Accounts Payable experience
• Experience using Microsoft Excel
• Strong verbal and communication skills required.
• Experience with cloud-based software such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics or QuickBooks preferred.
• Experience working in a multi-location multi-company organization preferred.
• Working knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office is required.
• Flexibility to work in a rapidly growing environment.
• Strong attention to detail, efficiency, and problem-solving skills.
• Highly organized with great attention to detail and time management skills
• Knowledge of general accounting procedures
• Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check & drug screening.
