Retail. CPG. And one of the biggest mergers going right now — the potential combination of two grocery giants, Kroger and Albertsons. Welcome to Supermarket News. It’s a hot time to be in grocery and we’re looking for a player with chops. We don’t just want a writer; we want someone who can break down news and provide top-notch industry analysis. We don’t just want someone familiar with digital; we want an individual who’s excited by the digital landscape and who wants to dive headfirst into it. Regular podcast appearances, video, social media — this is where we see growth and we want you to grow with us.

Informa’s Restaurant & Food Group is looking for an innovative, passionate Senior Editor to contribute to Supermarket News, the grocery industry’s No. 1 publication featuring the latest news, trends, and sharp thought leadership — and delivered with a snappy and savvy voice. This individual will further Supermarket News’ market-leading position by developing, reporting, and writing high-quality content that drives audience engagement across print, digital, social, and multimedia platforms. JOB FUNCTION

·         Contribute daily stories reporting on news from across the retail industry

·         Develop and create high-quality enterprise stories with regular frequency

·         Contribute one feature per month for print edition

·         Follow audience analytics and develop content such as galleries, lists and accolades to support

·         Cultivate retail industry expertise and leverage in content and external appearances

·         Maintain strong relationships with industry sources and company contacts

·         Participate in and create relevant multimedia content, including videos and podcasts

·         Keep social media presence up to date and active as member of SN

·         Moderate virtual and live panels and conversations hosted by SN

·         Travel to industry conferences for continued education, networking and as ambassador for SN

·         Support overall publication strategy through interactions with editorial director and leadership team

Qualifications

·         Deep knowledge of quality content expectations through editing, style guides, attention to detail, and multimedia production

·         Experience working across various platforms including print, digital, social and multimedia

·         Strong time management and project management skills

·         Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

·         Knowledge of retail and/or food industry preferred

·         Knowledge of CMS platforms

·         Experience with workflow tools like Trello, Slack, SharePoint a plus

·         Strong verbal and written skills

·         Travel 5% by ground or air to major industry and business events

·         Strong team player with a general love for life!

The pay range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 depending on experience.
