Position Purpose
The Senior Category Analyst supports the National Account Managers with consumer analysis/insights, thought leadership, and innovative reporting solutions. This role will develop persuasive selling presentations using consumer and market tools/data to increase/protect distribution, space, display, and stocking efforts. In representing the state of the business and Delicato Family Wines, this position requires good judgment in acceptable uses of information.

Essential Duties
- Maintains retailer specific databases and analyzes data using retailer solutions to develop actionable insights for Delicato’s National Accounts team; uses retailer solutions to develop and update monthly reports, analyze current market trends, and develop tools to support Delicato products in the market
- Specializes in customer specific data and solutions, developing insights and reporting to analyze category business results while monitoring Delicato’s sales, distribution, promotional activity, and retail pricing
- Develops strong partnerships with key internal and external customers to effectively communicate insights that translate into measurable results for the National Accounts team
- Uses analytics and insights to achieve short/long-term sales goals with a focus on product assortment, merchandising, shelving, promotion, pricing and stocking efforts
- Partners with sales team to develop fact-based presentations for specific retailers to support new items, address competitive situations, enhance merchandising effectiveness, and improve shelving
- Continually improves customer specific tools, methods, and reporting systems
- Delivers post promotion analyses of retailer programming, partnering with the Finance team to evaluate effectiveness of promotion and spend, and communicates results and recommendations
- Works with Delicato’s National Accounts team along with distributor partners to maintain compliance reporting on the retailer’s execution expectations
- Attends relevant Marketing and Sales meetings
- Visits distributor and retailer as needed and assists in conducting store audits

Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, with a Sales, Marketing or Statistics concentration
- Minimum of 3 years of business analysis experience required, with a focus on category management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understands in detail how category management tools work tactically to support sales
- Fluent in Nielsen/IRI scan data analytics, household panel, loyalty card data, and other syndicated and custom data, developing and supporting sales presentations, marketing claims, and brand performance
- Familiarity with CPG consumer & channel data
- Experience with various assortment tools (Space Planner, Apollo, and Spaceman)
- Expert computer skills are required; strength in Excel, PowerPoint, Multi-dimensional tables, Power Pivot, and ability to report, graph and present complex information
- Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to translate data into key findings
- Aptitude for computer systems, especially related to data management
- Ability to work and collaborate within a team environment
- Strong project management skills and ability to plan and prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Certificates and Licenses
- Relevant Space Management or Category Management certifications highly desirable
Working Conditions
- Requires ability to travel frequently and flexibility in schedule to work evenings and weekends as needed
- This is a remote position that requires working out of a home office
