Welcome to Ignite, DEPT®'s internship for Black identifying individuals. 

Black professionals have historically had limited access and opportunity to break into the marketing/advertising industry. Ignite is dedicated to changing that by hiring, developing  and retaining Black talent in this sector.With Ignite, DEPT’s aim is to increase the representation of Black talent across our offices. 

This opportunity is open to those seeking to start their career in motion design, and is ideal for students wanting to hone in on their motion design skills.

Within the Ignite internship, you will have a mentor and/or manager who will help guide and support you. This will ensure that we can meet your needs at both a business and personal level.

THE ROLE

As a Motion Design Intern you will produce video, animation and digital creative solutions to help communicate Feed’s clients’ goals. You’ll use movement to inspire, educate and engage a wide audience across social media, email and onsite.

Day to day

• Digital animations and video editing.
• Image and footage sourcing.
• Taking accountability for timely design output.
• Taking briefs from start to finish, from storyboarding to completion.
• Working with Senior Motion Designer to build and maintain motion design templates.
• Contributing innovating ideas at creative review meetings through research and the inspiration you seek in the external world.
• Brand knowledge and guardianship.
• Support your team members!

What We’re Looking For

• A great source for up-to-the-minute creative knowledge and trends, especially on social media platforms
• Must have experience with After Effects and the wider Adobe suite. (Any 3D experience a bonus!)
• Knowledge of the animation/video creation process, from storyboards to rendering.
• A great teammate that supports their colleagues and doesn’t act as an individual.
• Highly motivated.
• Adds something unique to the culture of DEPT and wants to be a part of a social environment.
• Very organised with attention to detail.
• Works with grit and determination in the face of demanding deadlines.
• Has a desire to embrace new skills and challenges.
• Good eye for layout, skilled in typesetting and retouching.

INTERNSHIP TIMELINE:

• The Ignite internship runs from June - August of 2024
