The anticipated salary range for this role is between $97,000.00 and $156,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
SMBC is in process of leading a Digital Transformation across our Americas Division as we continue to modernize our technology, focus on our data driven approach, grow and plan for the future. As a result of this expansion we are seeking a Quality Engineering Software Developer.
Role Objectives
• Continual discussions with Development Teams, to review stories planned, vet requirements of new features and story point automation efforts
• Input test plan and scenarios into Xray – convert scenarios into automation
• Perform Impact Assessment of all business requirements and any changes – vet requirements
• Maintain applicable test artifacts (Test plan, test cases, test data automation scripting) per the business requirements or change requests
• Code Pull and review, future CI/CD implementation, execution and reporting
Qualifications and Skills
• 5-7 years of experience in application development/automation framework development using Python / Java
• 2+ years of working knowledge and ability to develop test automation script for post trade Capital Markets data lineage
• Strong knowledge and coding experience in Python/Java to automate test cases for post trade back office and trade flow
• Strong working knowledge on SQL to write complex SQL
• Strong working knowledge of Fixed Income and Derivatives Back Office Testing - Capital Market experience
• Strong hands-on experience in expanding frameworks and creating new automation scenarios programmatically using Python or Java
• Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks
• Strong knowledge in core java/ Python or any equivalent, automation testing tools for backend , front end &web service API testing
• Strong hands on experience in building automation framework and in developing automation scripts for Web UI, Web Services and APIs
• 5+ years of professional experience working with data sets, advanced scripting and SQL
• Prior experience working as QE/SDET in agile/scrum teams, shipping features often
• Ability to understand complex data flows between various internal and external applications
• Demonstrated ability to identify and report Risks and Issues
