POSITION: Director of Administration
DEPARTMENT: Community Corrections
WORK SCHEDULE: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., M-F
STATUS: Full time
FLSA STATUS: Exempt

Incumbent serves as Director of Administration for Community Corrections, responsible for managing the daily operations of the Department in a manner consistent with the objectives of the Department.
DUTIES
Supervises and directs assigned personnel, including interviewing applicants, making hiring recommendations and decisions, scheduling, planning/making work assignments, providing training and corrective instruction, evaluating performance, maintaining discipline, and communicating and administering personnel policies.
Oversee/monitors compliance with Department policies and procedures, ensuring proper orientation and appropriate interaction with participants. Oversees/monitors the screening process for completeness and accuracy.
Responsible for electronic monitoring hardware and software, including maintaining equipment inventory, responding to questions/complaints regarding operation, and contacting service vendors for maintenance troubleshooting and repair as needed.
Responsible for management of the Department’s telephone and computer systems and coordinating service with contracting vendors and the county’s Information Services and Systems Department.
Responsible for compilation of Department data for use in planning process.
Assists in enforcing program requirements. Oversees the Administrative Hearing process and serves as the appeals officer for this process. Periodically testifies in court proceedings as needed.
Assists in preparing budgets, including reviewing/updating goals and objectives, projecting costs, and preparing required documents.
Maintains current knowledge of changing technology and practices in community corrections administration by reading professional publications and legislative updates, and periodically attending seminars and training.
Periodically attends training, conferences, and meetings as required or as needed.
Serves on 24-hour call for emergencies.
Performs related duties as assigned.
I. JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Baccalaureate Degree in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, or related area, with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Possession of or ability to obtain required certifications/training within time specified by department, including First Responder, CPR, and Disease Control.
Thorough knowledge of basic criminal justice processes, and community corrections policies, procedures, and legal requirements, to include evidence-based practices and evidence-based decision making. The ability to ensure compliance by all department services.
Thorough knowledge of and ability to follow and administer personnel policies and work rules of the employer/department, including, but not limited to, attendance, safety, drug-free workplace, and personal conduct.
Ability to extract statistical data using computer programs and understand, analyze, and effectively use said data.
