**The Role

 

We currently have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Engineering Team.  The role will be responsible for managing the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) processes for the Tankage Transformation Programme at Stanlow and Tranmere.

 

The role is part of the site Projects Inspection department and interfaces with both internal and external stakeholders. This job is designed to ensure that site processes related to fabrication, inspection and quality control are followed correctly and that the status of these activities are visible and reported.

 

The role will require you to manage the end to end fabrication process from approval of requisitions, mark up of inspection test plans, pre-inspection meetings, through to the process of supplier fabrication including inspection (QA/QC). In addition, there will be testing to ensure that fabricated equipment and piping is built to the required standards and also complies with the order technical requirements, interfacing with internal teams to ensure that requisitions and purchase orders specify the necessary technical requirements. 

 

The role involves ensuring that all supplier activity meets both Essar and National / International design codes and legislative requirements.  Additionally you will be responsible for managing  all documentation and ensuring it is received and appropriately updated in the relevant systems.

 

**About You

 

Our ideal candidate should have or be working towards a minimum academic qualification of HNC or equivalent in an engineering related subject.  You should also be qualified to PCN Level II or equivalent or have a minimum of 5 years radiographic interpretation experience and be a registered CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 Welding Inspector with demonstrable experience of carrying out a similar role either as a client representative managing fabrication activity of others or performing a quality management role within a fabrication supplier. 

 

You should have good working knowledge of National and International Codes and Standards application to equipment design, fabrication and inspection.  Detailed knowledge of quality control and inspection requirements used in tank and pressure vessel equipment design and fabrication using both internal and external standards and procedures, with an awareness and familiarity with project fabrication control requirements.  You should have knowledge of tools and techniques used in the application of non-destructive examination for new fabrication and repairs to existing equipment and have the ability to identify and select suitable techniques to control quality across a variety of metallic materials.  You should have the ability to review, assess and support integrity and repair assessments for tanks, piping and pressure vessels, excellent communication skills to influence all levels of the organisation.
