Job Description Summary

The Executive in Residence role is meant to bring an executive’s experience and perspective in sports management and business strategy to the Farmer School of Business. Over the 2025–2026 academic year, the role will support faculty, students, administrators, and advisors in a variety of ways, while also helping lay the foundation for a new Sports Business Strategy course planned for Fall 2026. The position is part time, working up to 15 hours per month throughout the 2025-2026 academic year and will require at least three trips to Miami University Oxford’s campus for on-campus activities, course development, and direct engagement.

Job Description

Focus Areas

  • Share insight and guidance with FSB faculty, staff, and student groups.

  • Join select leadership, advisory, or committee conversations to bring an external, real-world point of view.

  • Take part in workshops, panels, and events, and help bring in other industry voices through professional networks.

  • Connect with student organizations and advisory councils, offering mentorship and career guidance.

  • Partner with faculty to shape the design and content of a future Sports Business Strategy course.

Looking Ahead

This role is designed as a bridge year — giving back to the Farmer School of Business community, building relationships, and setting the stage for the launch of the Sports Business Strategy course in Fall 2026.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

  • 20 years working across sports, management, and strategy.

  • 10 years in senior business leadership roles.

  • 12 years serving on boards and committees, showing a long-term commitment to education and community.
