Position Summary:

GIP is seeking a Vice President to join the Portfolio Finance team in a role that will own portfolio valuation for a subset of GIP assets, partner in managing GIP’s portfolio monitoring system, as well as support of monthly / quarterly financial understanding and analysis requirements for a portfolio of assets.  The VP will be a key interface with GIP’s portfolio companies on accounting, reporting and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive critical operating initiatives within the GIP Business Improvement Team to enhance performance across a portfolio of assets, collaborating closely with Portfolio Company leadership and GIP investment teams.
  • Support monthly and quarterly portfolio financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities.
  • Manage portfolio data, consolidating key financial and operational KPIs within database systems.
  • Leverage technology (e.g., Chronograph Portfolio Management, Workiva Wdesk) to enhance data quality, reporting efficiency, and analytical outputs, fostering a collaborative financial reporting environment.
  • Reconcile income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows with corresponding quantitative metrics.
  • Conduct variance analyses across budgets, forecasts, and actuals, linking financial performance to operational KPIs.
  • Collaborate with the GIP Business Improvement Team and portfolio company management to validate and interpret data inputs.
  • Support ad hoc initiatives, including integration and carve-out activities, shared services optimization, board and committee reporting, and audit-related projects.
  • Other ad hoc projects, investor and Deal Team requests.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. CFA designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in valuation, accounting, FP&A, consulting, or private equity.
  • Strong financial analysis, cash flow modeling, and valuation analysis experience and proficiency.
  • Comfortable with database usage, management and administration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and credibly at executive level.
  • Previous experience in financial reporting systems: SAP / Hyperion / Other.
  • A positive attitude, high motivation and ability to maintain a culture based on teamwork, respect & integrity.
  • Expertise with MS Excel and highly skilled with other MS office products including PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • An inquisitive intellect with a strong analytical bias.
  • Resilient self-starter with ability to work independently.
  • Previous experience with private funds, especially private equity and/or infrastructure a plus.
For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$137,500.00 - USD$194,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
