Position Overview:
You report to the Financial Controller and are part of the Accounting team within Navico Group with your colleagues. Together you make an active contribution to the further professionalization of the department. You are proactive, you advise and you identify improvement potential in the field of administration, but you also implement and safeguard this. Working together in an entrepreneurial and commercial organization gives you energy, so you are proactive towards your various internal and external stakeholders.

Assistant Financial Controller is responsible for conducting a timely, correct and complete general ledger administration, taking care of its design and providing correct and timely and complete information about this.
The team also supports the business with things like price list management, (credit) invoices to our customers, credit limit management and debtor management. The team also takes care of, among other things, the external tax returns in the Netherlands, and in the European countries.
In addition, the team provides active support to the regions in the field of financial reporting and analysis. As an Assistant Financial Controller you are hands-on and responsible for conducting a timely, correct and complete general ledger administration on local GAAP and US GAAP basis and for providing good information about this. In addition, you ensure an adequate design of the asset administration. You can deal with important balance sheet items such as revaluation, work in progress, provisions and ensure the correct monthly bookings.
You monitor the quality of the administrative records and understand the world behind these figures. You are able to translate this analysis into (external) accountability information with a clear explanation.
You will be responsible for the full administration of one of the EMEA countries, owning the entity and being in charge of dealing with external stakeholders (e.g auditors, tax authorities).
Daily activities:
Together with the other Assistant Financial Controllers you will do the following work on the basis of task rotation:
• General ledger administration management;
• Correct and complete view of Navico Group general ledger containing the correct representation of the foreign entities;
• Correct and complete Fixed Assets administration;
• Providing timely and correct financial reporting(s) for the benefit of various stakeholders on a monthly and quarterly basis;
• Timely preparation of VAT returns;
• Continuous improvement of the administrative processes including bottlenecks within the processes general ledger, fixed assets, projects, payment transactions and tax returns;
• Act as a sparring partner for the business in the field of administration and (external) reporting;
• Proactively working on a good relationship with stakeholders inside and outside ;
• Supports the Financial Control Manager in the operational coordination of activities within the team
Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.
Required Qualifications:
• At least HBO+ working and thinking level, possibly supplemented with specific professional training;
• Solid knowledge of financial administrative processes, general ledger administrations, taxation and annual accounts processes;
• Knowledge of and experience with financial (external) reporting (IFRS, Dutch GAAP);
• Experience with process optimization and digitization and automation projects;
• Knowledge of the ERP systems is an advantage
• Command of the English language (spoken and written), Dutch, German or Scandinavian languages is preferable.
• Thorough knowledge of Excel
