Our club is dedicated to creating memorable experiences for our members and guests, and we are seeking a talented Catering and Events Manager to join our dynamic team.
As the Catering and Events Manager at Lexington Country Club, you will play a pivotal role in planning and executing a variety of events, ensuring each one is a memorable success.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the planning and execution of all catering and events, including weddings, private parties, corporate functions, and club events.
- Collaborating with clients to understand their vision and requirements, and ensuring their needs are met with exceptional service.
- Managing event logistics, including coordinating with vendors, arranging for necessary equipment, and overseeing event setup and breakdown.
- Creating detailed event proposals and contracts, including menu planning, pricing, and event timelines.
- Working closely with the culinary team to develop and customize menus that align with client expectations and club standards.
- Supervising the events team and ensuring all staff are well-trained and prepared for each event.
- Maintaining strong relationships with vendors and negotiating contracts to ensure the best service and pricing.
- Monitoring event budgets and ensuring events remain within financial parameters.
- Conducting post-event evaluations to identify areas for improvement and gather client feedback.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends and continuously seeking ways to enhance our event offerings.
To excel in this role, we are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
- Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A college degree in Hospitality management and/or Culinary Management is preferred.
- At least two years of experience in the field of Food & Beverage and Hospitality, preferably at a Country Club, or Resort
- Strong Knowledge with Jonas POS System is a plus
- Current Member of the CMAA; Both National and Local Chapter
- Strong interest in Clubhouse Management and Membership Sales
- Strong ability to lead and motivate the team
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients and other associates of the organization
- Ability to effectively and professionally deal with customers, some of whom may require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger
- Ability to listen effectively and to speak English clearly over the telephone
- Ability to achieve positive guest relations and maximize guest satisfaction
- Proven experience as a Catering and Events Manager or in a similar role in a high-end hospitality or club setting.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
- Creative and detail-oriented, with a passion for delivering exceptional events.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of catering and event industry trends.
- Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
