A Senior Administrative Assistant job is available with the City of Fort Worth Water Department, Meter Services Section within the Customer Care Division. This dynamic, fast-paced team plays a critical role in supporting both office and field operations.
In this position, you will manage and coordinate a wide range of complex administrative and fiscal responsibilities, including oversight of human resources functions and special projects for the division. Success in this role requires exceptional customer service skills and a strong focus on achieving results.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, human resources or related field.
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible administrative and fiscal management experience in support of a department, division or major service area
- One (1) year in a supervisory or lead capacity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with financial management system, preferably PeopleSoft.
- Experience with budgeting software.
- Experience with medical records, FMLA and ADA criteria, and workers compensation claims.
- Experience working for a municipal or local government entity.
- Experience with record keeping and tracking.
The Sr. Administrative Assistant job responsibilities include:
- Lead Medical Records Coordinator duties. Works closely with City Human Resources divisions.
- Medical Record Custodial duties include medical records, major medical, FMLA, and ADA criteria, and worker's compensation claims for the section.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date data and information in various computer systems; provide information on section's current MRC status per the city policies and procedures; file documents, reports, and correspondence; maintain the section's physical medical records filing system.
- Safeguarding employee medical records and ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards and per the city’s policies and procedures.
- Scheduled return to work physicals and monthly random sectional drug and alcohol testing
- Participate in departmental and divisional meetings; inform and advise other division personnel; assist in preparing the annual operating budget to include backup information to support the budget.
- Participates in the preparation and development of the division's annual budget process; monitors expenditures, as needed; ensures adherence to division/section budgets.
- Research and analyze the accuracy of expenditures.
- Manages and maintains divisional/sectional contracts and budget
- Updates and analyzes divisional/sectional monthly budget re-estimates.
- Provides other Human Resources administrative support to daily operations, including a variety of clerical and work processing duties.
- Provides new hire training safety courses.
