The opportunity

This position is responsible for developing, implementing and leading an innovating training and education strategy that draws on industry best practices to facilitate the transfer of relevant technical knowledge to support the delivery of business objectives across all functions in compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.

How you’ll spend your day

All areas of responsibility listed below are essential to the satisfactory performance of this position by any incumbents with reasonable accommodation if necessary. Any non-essential functions are assumed to be included in other related duties or assignments. 

  • Responsible for performing a needs analysis, creating, designing, implementing, monitoring and maintaining the site technical training and development plan ensuring alignment with mandatory training and regulatory requirements
  • Work with functional managers, facilitate the development and maintenance of technical training curricula for defined job roles.
  • Responsible for ensuring training records and proper content allocation via Learning Management System (Studium).
  • Develop a delivery network of internal SMEs, and lead vendor selection of external SMEs as required.
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining and reporting metrics demonstrating training effectiveness and compliance through agreed channels, including reporting status of training to SLT.
  • Establish, maintain, train and monitor a network of trainers and mentors at all levels and within all functions on the site to ensure to ensure continuity of high-quality training and for new starters to become effective quickly.
  • Work in collaboration with site HR to align with personal development needs to incorporate relevant content to the technical training programs.
  • Responsible for completing all training requirements and maintaining compliance with all assignments.   
  • Responsible for maintaining work areas and performing job functions in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Batch Record instructions. 
  • Responsible for performing additional related duties as assigned.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Up to 10%

Your experience and qualifications

Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered. 

Education/Certification/Experience:

  • Requires Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Education, Science, Business or relevant field or equivalent education/experience 
  • Requires minimum of 8 years relevant progressive experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment and/or regulated industry
  • Additional certification in training (e.g. Certified Technical Trainer) is a plus
  • Knowledge of technical training and adult learning principles strongly preferred
  • Project management and advanced presentation skills a plus

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Computer proficiency with comprehensive working knowledge of MS Office products, Learning Management Systems (LMS), EDMS and ERP systems, LIMS, and Trackwise.
  • Ability to motivate, influence and lead others with and/or without direct supervisory authority.
  • Ability to positively manage conflict, provide difficult feedback and negotiate resolution.
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships between teams, departments and business units.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and decision making.
  • Ability to deliver training to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to communicate effectively with excellent written and oral communication skills.
