Job Description
The Manufacturing Training & Repair Specialist is responsible for developing employee capabilities through structured training, skills development, and cross-training initiatives while supporting production through repair, rework, and quality improvement activities. This role serves as a key resource for onboarding new employees, maintaining training documentation, managing skill matrices, and improving workforce flexibility and proficiency.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who takes initiative, works independently with minimal direction, and demonstrates a strong sense of urgency in supporting employee development, product quality, and repair activities.
Approximate Time Allocation: Training & Development (30%); Repairs, Rework & Operational Support (70%).
Key Responsibilities
Conduct onboarding and training for new employees on products, processes, technologies, tools, and standard work instructions.
Develop, maintain, and administer training programs to improve workforce skills and competency.
Manage and update employee skill matrices and training records.
Evaluate employee proficiency and recommend development opportunities.
Coordinate and deliver cross-training initiatives to increase workforce flexibility and operational coverage.
Develop and maintain training documentation, work instructions, and process guides.
Conduct follow-up evaluations to verify training effectiveness and retention.
Perform product repairs and rework activities on products and assemblies.
Diagnose product defects and implement effective corrective actions.
Perform buffing, polishing, and cosmetic restoration to meet product appearance standards.
Maintain repair logs, tracking systems, and related documentation.
Complete cosmetic touch-ups and finishing work to ensure products meet quality and appearance expectations.
Collaborate with Quality and Production teams to identify recurring issues and implement improvements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and employee development.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, assembly, repair, or production environment or bike industry shop experience.
1-2 years training, mentoring, or coaching employees preferred.
Experience with product repair, rework, buffing, polishing, finishing, and cosmetic restoration techniques preferred.
