We’re looking for a Engineering Project Manager / Project Engineer to join our Engineering & Quality team to assist with project management duties, including: preparing requests for proposals (RFPs), stakeholder management, timeline development and management, design reviews, project budget tracking, performing project retrospectives, and interfacing with internal and external vendors and customers.
You’ll report to the Engineering Manager and work from our Santa Ana, CA office with a flexible hybrid schedule. Occasional travel to vendors and other domestic and international Collectors facilities.
What You’ll Do:
Project Management
- Drive business-critical projects that are parts of larger programs to completion
- Administer project meetings on a regular cadence
- Develop project plans and schedules
- Lead scope reviews, design reviews, and other project-phase meetings
- Document project milestones and deliverables
- Monitor project spend and budget
- Participate in RFPs with vendors, both internal and external
Support of maintenance and equipment repair actions, including validation of repairs and verification of calibrations
Continuous Improvement
- Incorporate feedback from various stakeholders to improve the Collectors Project Management Process
- Identify opportunities for product, equipment, and process improvements throughout Collectors’ facilities
- Implement refinements to project documentation and processes
- Perform project retrospectives and incorporate learnings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Who You Are:
- Hold a 4-year Mechanical or similar Engineering degree
- CAPM or PMP preferred, but not required
- Experience working with vendors and suppliers
- Experience with complex projects with multiple equipment, process, and software deliverables
- Stakeholder management skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Technical skills, ideally with capital equipment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel or similar skills
- Experience with Agile, Sprint, Waterfall, and/or Phase-Gate Project Management
- Project Management software experience (Monday, Wrike, MS Project, etc)
- Experience working with software Product Managers
- Familiarity with volume-driven operations
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Curious and seeks to learn new processes, systems, and tools asks questions to ensure understanding
- Takes direction well
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in a deadline sensitive environment
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time
- Extended periods of time in office and warehouse setting
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 20lbs
- Working around equipment and machinery
- Occasional exposure to machinery noise from forklifts, injection presses, sonic welders, and other machinery
- Occasional exposure to warehouse temperatures and humidity
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $95,000-$120,000. Actual compensation on this range varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, experience, and skill set.
