About the role:
Are you an HR Advisor looking for the opportunity to develop and grow?
You will be presented with many opportunities to do this is if you join the global HR function at CHL. Our team is dispersed but we have developed streamlined processes and work together seamlessly to support employees across all CHL entities, brands and geographies. This year we have been transforming into a truly digital, data driven HR function; our tech stack is best in class. CHL has and continues to invest in this transformation because it truly values its people.
We recently launched an entity in Portugal and we’re about to open a new office in Lisbon. We have onboarded almost 15 employees already using our global processes. To support growth and ensure we are interpreting and complying with local legislation correctly we are now ready to add an HR advisor to our team, based in Lisbon.
This is a generalist role that will report into the Head of HR in Australia. You’ll have weekly meetings with the global HR team, regular 1-on-1’s and you’ll be able to collaborate (daily in a similar time zone) with our HR Manager in Germany. You will also work closely with our Head of European operations who is based in Lisbon. So, you’ll be joining a truly global and well structured team with lots of support. Whilst you’ll be focused on HR operations in Portugal, you’ll get to work on global and European projects as well so you’ll learn about employment law in multiple jurisdictions.
Whilst we are building the team in Lisbon you’ll need to help out with some office management duties too. Talent acquisition is also a very important part of this role as we are focused on growth.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Continually review and adapt global HR processes and documentation to ensure compliance with Portuguese employment law.
- Manage HR tech stack (including HRIS & ATS) to build automations, improve efficiency and compliance.
- Liaising with finance and external accountants to process payroll each month
- End to end talent acquisition
- Assisting with key processes such as salary benchmarking, employee lifecycle and engagement surveys, safety.
- Talent management - advising managers and ensuring they follow the correct processes for managing the employee lifecycle including but not limited to talent acquisition, on/off boarding, performance management, learning and development.
- Employee relations - advising employees and managers on a range of matters including but not limited to policies & procedures, grievances.
- Contributing to strategic projects and continuous improvement with a focus on data, reporting and implementation
- Assist with office management and culture building initiatives in the Lisbon office.
Requirements
- 3 + years experience in a HR admin role or similar
- Fluent in English and Portuguese
- Must have HR Qualifications, good understanding of employment law and compliance procedures for Portugal Labor Code.
