<h1>THE ROLE &amp; THE TEAM </h1><p><span>The mission of the </span>Process Intelligence and Applied Science <span>team is to analyse and improve Zalando’s internal processes through automation.<span> </span>Our products facilitate continuous process and workflow improvement, ML-based process automation and ML-based decision making.</span></p><p></p><p><span>As a </span>(Senior)<span> </span>Applied Scientist<span> you will help drive our scientific roadmap by applying your scientific capabilities to deliver projects in collaboration with other Applied Scientists, Software Engineers and Product Managers.</span></p><p></p><h1>WHY YOU SHOULD BE INTERESTED…</h1><ul><li><p><span>Apply  your scientific problem solving skills by working on different classification, forecasting and anomaly detection problems</span></p></li><li><p><span>Develop long-term scientific roadmaps to address complex fashion challenges using state-of-the-art ML solutions, ensuring that we stay at the forefront of innovation</span></p></li><li><p><span>Apply research that leads to the development and improvement of innovative LLM-based chatbot solutions</span></p></li><li><p><span>Monitor and improve ML algorithms that run in production</span></p></li><li><p><span>Collaborate with engineers within our team, department and with business stakeholders across the company to bring the developed models to production </span></p></li></ul><p></p><h1>WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF…</h1><ul><li><p><span>A Master of Science or PhD with a focus on Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or similar quantitative fields. Minimum of 5 years of industry experience.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Sound theoretical and applied knowledge about machine learning and statistics. Solid  coding  skills for prototyping and writing production-ready code. Strong experience with Python, including numerical packages (numpy), data handling (pandas), machine learning (scikit-learn)</span></p></li><li><p><span>Practical experience in deploying machine learning models into production (AWS, K8s, CI/CD, github, REST APIs)</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience in working with Big Data technologies (Apache Spark/Databricks) and relational databases (e.g PostgreSQL)</span></p></li><li><p><span>Knowledge of RAG architecture and associated Python frameworks</span></p></li></ul><p></p><h1>OUR OFFER</h1><p><span>Zalando provides a range of benefits, here’s an overview of what you can expect.
