Exciting and challenging opportunity working in an American multinational chemical company. The accounting lead will have a key role in the EMEA Financial Shared Services structure supervising the Record to Report (“RTR”) team functions executed in accordance with the Group Policies, local and US GAAP requirements, agreed service level agreements, and key performance indicators.
Reporting to the RTR Lead, the successful candidate will actively participate in the team's development, helping with possible implementations/system changes, the transition of activities, and collaborating in the continuous process improvement initiatives to ensure a streamlined and efficient team over the regional FSS function.
What will you be doing?
In this role you will be responsible for a team of 2-3 and need to perform the following tasks:
- Lead a team of high-performance accounting professionals
- Full overview of the Month End Closing, review of reporting packages
- Approval of monthly and quarterly variances, SOX controls, balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline
- Manage relationship with auditors
- Ensure Financial statements are presented on time
- Team management
- Design people development plans
- Take ownership on special projects
- Responding to a significant number of ad hoc queries, and analysis
- Work closely with the process owners on continuous process improvements
- Role may require some travel at times and work on some weekends/public holidays during month/year-end periods
Who are You?
We are looking for you if you have
- University or College degree in Finance/Accounting
- Over 5+ years of Accounting/Finance experience required
- Experience leading a team
- Advanced Excel skills with experience in building and working with complex models and large data sets.
- Experience with SAP (JDE and HFM is a plus).
- Leading accounting role in FSS in a large, listed, multinational company is desirable
- US GAAP and SOX experience
