Job Description

AECOM is seeking a motivated individual for employment as a Project Coordinator in the Tampa, Florida office. This position is within the Buildings and Places business line where we have planners, architects and engineers designing new buildings and complexes and renovations of major facilities for federal, municipal, and commercial clients. We are searching for a candidate with a background and an interest in providing varied key support activities to project managers and multidiscipline design teams on diverse projects.

As a Project Coordinator you will learn and be active in the building design and engineering process, while learning on the job project management skills from working directly with our Project Managers and teams.

Candidates should be quick and avid learners, have strong organizational skills, attention to detail for information and documents, strong writing and editing skills, and genuinely enjoy scheduling and managing tasks and people.

The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Assisting with project planning and setup documents along with monitoring progress of project submittals including design, quality control, and review periods.
  • Coordinating with project teams for the preparation of various deliverables such as studies, reports, drawings, cost estimates, design analyses, and supporting documentation.
  • Becoming proficient in the specialized 'SpecsIntact' specification software used for Federal projects and be point of contact with our various technical leads in preparing project specifications.
  • Interacting with security contacts at the various facilities we work at for badging and other access requirements for staff and subcontractor visits and monitoring expirations and renewals. Also providing any required notices to facilities for site visits.
  • Attending project meetings, both internal and with clients, and documenting decisions and actions needed along with responsibilities, for distribution to the team.
  • During bidding and construction periods of projects, monitoring contractor submittals and questions requiring review by our technical and management staff.
  • Assisting with preparation of presentation materials for client meetings.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Degree and 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience using Microsoft suite of business software
  • Valid US Driver’s License required, as a condition of employment must pass AECOM's motor vehicle records review
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Degree and 4 years of relevant experience in positions of increasing responsibilities
  • Some college is preferred
  • Demonstrated writing skills; professional sample may be requested at interview
  • Experience preparing documents such as studies and reports
  • High level proficiency using spreadsheets, word processing, and other office software as well as other layout, formatting, document processing software is a plus
  • Previous experience planning and organizing tasks and teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in a deadline intensive environment
