<p>Mediclinic Durbanville | Durbanville, Cape Town | South Africa </p> <p><br/> Closing date: 30/11/2023  <br/> Number of positions: 1 <br/> Recruiter name: Annenise Elizabeth Mc Donald ��<br/> Reference number: 45435  <br/> Permanent</p> <p><em>Please note if you are an internal employee on a fixed term contract please apply using an external candidate profile and not your employee profile</em></p> <h2>MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB</h2> <p>To deliver safe, comprehensive and quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice</p> <h2>KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS</h2> <p>Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team</p> <p>Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety</p> <p>Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment</p> <p>Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions</p> <p>Create a learning environment that builds staff competence</p> <p>Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged</p> <h2>REQUIRED EDUCATION</h2> <p>ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree / Diploma in General Nursing</p> <p>DESIRED EDUCATION: Post Graduate Certificate/ Diploma in Operating Theatre Nursing Science</p> <h2>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE</h2> <p>ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years post graduate qualification experience in theatre.</p> <p>DESIRED EXPERIENCE:  8 years post graduate qualification experience in theatre.</p> <h2>REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE</h2> <ul><li>Basic life support trained (ACLS; ATLS; PALS training for specialised wards) </li><li>Computer literate (Microsoft Office) </li><li>Develop/ modify a nursing care plan </li><li>Infection prevention and control (IPC) principles and protocols </li><li>Nursing processes and procedures </li><li>Nursing record keeping </li><li>Patient assessment skills </li><li>Pharmacology </li><li>Relevant nursing legislation </li><li>Risk identification </li><li>Scientific nursing principles and process </li></ul><p>All applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa, as well as internal applicants/employees that meet the minimum requirements.</p> <p><em>Please note if you are an internal employee on a fixed term contract please apply using an external candidate profile and not your employee profile</em></p> <p> </p>
