BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY
The Accounting IT Analyst is a key member supporting the IT organization and is responsible for managing all aspects of the centralized IT budget. This role involves overseeing monthly expenses, quarterly forecasts, conducting variance analysis and providing Azure cost reporting. The Accounting IT Analyst will work closely with IT leaders and stakeholders to ensure effective financial management and cost optimization within the IT department.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting or related roles.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain a centralized IT budget, including tracking and monitoring expenses, forecasts and cost allocations.
- Conduct monthly financial analysis and reporting, highlighting key variances and providing insights to IT management.
- Lead analysis on behalf of IT with Internal Audit and JV accounting to determine application of COPAS for bill out to partners through LOE or CAPEX.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and adherence to budgetary guidelines, including accruals, amortization, depreciation and bill outs.
- Work closely with Azure administrators and IT teams to monitor and report on Azure costs, identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
- Collaborate with Project Managers on variance analysis and forecast for all projects including Devon Energy Ventures.
- Facilitate the WBS process and management for all initiatives requiring a WBS without a Project Manager.
- Support the annual budgeting process, providing financial insights and recommendations to align IT initiatives with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with procurement and vendor management teams to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of IT vendor expenses. Assist in researching and reconciling missing or mis-coded invoices.
- Provide financial guidance and support to IT stakeholders, assisting in decision-making processes related to budget management and cost control.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Strong understanding of financial principles and budget management.
- Experience with IT financial management and cost optimization.
- Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
