Job Description:

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant I for a forward-facing accounting position, an important role as the first point of contact for many of our consumers, working closely with a small group of business professionals to support our operations.

Job duties

* Collect payments, issue receipts, and maintain proper accounting and safekeeping of funds.
* Coordinate vehicle logistics, including scheduling drivers, assigning vehicles, and ensuring timely transportation for clients.
* Create authorizations for services provided, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations and state statute.   
* Provide administrative support to clients and vocational rehabilitation counselors, including scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and assisting with inquiries.
* Manage incoming calls and route them as appropriate.
* Process referrals promptly and accurately, ensuring all necessary information is captured and documented.
* Maintain systems for client records, authorizations, and other relevant documentation.
* Assist with general office tasks, such as faxing, scanning, and photocopying documents.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless coordination of services and effective communication with clients and external stakeholders.
* Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information and interactions with clients and colleagues.
* Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the classification to support the efficient operation of the front desk and overall organization.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Post high school coursework or vocational education in accounting, finance, business administration or related field OR experience performing accounting functions including interpreting and analyzing financial data.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Post-high school coursework or vocational education in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field. Experience performing accounting functions, including interpreting and analyzing financial data. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, GAAP, and accounting systems. Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software programs, with the ability to compile and analyze data effectively. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with staff and stakeholders to provide and elicit information. Excellent mathematical skills and the ability to compute and compile financial data accurately. Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines effectively.
