The Impact you will have in this role:
The Global Accounting Associate performs a mix of routine and ad hoc responsibilities in the Controller's organization. The Global Accounting Associate is a part of a multidisciplinary accounting team that excels at delivering accurate and timely results by demonstrating their accounting knowledge, holding each other accountable, and collaborating across the organization. The team assists other Finance teams throughout the year, improves processes, supports reporting functions, participates in testing and validations for system implementations and changes, engages in year-end audit work, assists in mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures, and researches accounting guidance.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensures the successful month-end close process across our multi-entity, multi-currency, global enterprise within established deadlines.
- Responsible for the accurate posting of the company’s allocations and subsequent post-allocated entries to the ledger.
- Perform various month-end close tasks, including but not limited to administrative functions related to allocations and the month-end close process, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany settlement processes.
- Performs analytical analysis for various areas such as global foreign exchange gain and loss to explain variances in the monthly income statement.
- Supports the automated prepaid process, ensuring accurate recording and timely amortization of prepaid expenses to align with the company's financial policies and reporting requirements.
- Identify and implement opportunities for operational improvements, particularly automation, as well as participate in design and testing for new processes. Partner with functions across the organization to ensure the integrity of the processes and existence of vital controls.
- Perform special projects and other ad hoc projects as requested.
- Stay updated on accounting principles and new accounting developments.
- Assist with year-end and internal audits.
- Build and maintain accounting policies and procedures related to areas of responsibility.
- Aligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to supervise and mitigate risk; advances appropriately.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Understanding of US GAAP required
