The Director, Client Data Strategy reports to the VP of Data Operations and leads the data governance, data quality, and client data on-boarding efforts for RKD Group. This position works closely with our clients, Data Engineering, Data Operations, and Data Reporting teams to oversee creation of the business requirements and data mapping to fully document new and existing technical requirements in a pre-defined format that is usable by both technical and non-technical staff. They will work with the appropriate stakeholders to gather requirements and directly work with teams and clients to ensure the usability of the documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Data Governance leadership through overseeing implementation and adoption of enterprise data catalog, establishing data governance roles and responsibilities, providing and implementing strategic plan for governance maturity.
- Project management through creating and overseeing relevant projects through to completion.
- Team leadership by leading the data governance function and creating successful domain sphere of influence.
- Data on-boarding management through guiding data functions through on-boarding process, establishing client relationships, establishing and improving baseline on-boarding level of effort and duration.
- Requirements validation by translating data instructions to business functions and obtaining stakeholder approvals.
- Document requirements by creating use cases, functional and requirement specifications documents.
- Document data attributes including all transformed data and data attributes and how those attributes should be applied for business purposes.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree and 7-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- 2-4 years’ experience managing direct response or marketing campaign data, preferred but not required.
- Experience working multiple constituents transforming verbal and technical communication into written requirements.
- Experience with data catalog implementation and adoption and demonstrate project management skills.
- Prior Data Governance experience a plus.
The successful candidate will have proven working experience in data analysis and client requirements gathering. They will have a thorough understanding of Data Governance strategies and principles. They will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to understand stakeholder needs (internal and external) and recommend optimal solutions. The ability to build strong collaborative relationships is key. The successful candidate will need to be organized with good attention to detail and strong at multitasking.
LOCATION: Remote. Core working hours are generally central time zone but flexibility to adjust to accommodate Eastern or Pacific is needed on occasion. Minimal travel to in-person workshops or client data on-boarding sessions may be required.
Pay Range expected for the position: $145,000-$160,000 annually.
