Part of that is down to the numerous parks, woodlands and outlying hills, perfect for families.</p><p><a href="https://www.austria.info/en/where-to-go/cities/vienna"><strong>Learn more about Vienna</strong></a></p><p><strong>Your New Role</strong> </p><p>As Head of Design, you will be a key player in the execution of projects crucial to decarbonization of Vienna by 2040, such as: </p><ul><li>Modernisation of existing energy production facilities (e.g. upgrading a waste incineration plant on the basis of the circular economy) </li><li>Construction of new alternative energy generation plants (e.g. biomass, wind farm, geothermal etc) </li><li>Hydrogen production or application (e.g. construction of hydrogen production facilities) </li><li>Combined generation plants for heating and cooling energy as well as electricity (e.g. either construction or modernisation of existing plant for combined generation of electricity, heating and cooling energy such as natural gas and renewable energy sources) </li><li>Waste generation and management (e.g. construction of recycling plants, plants for the treatment of sewage sludge and phosphorus recovery). </li></ul><p>Your key responsibities will be:</p><ul><li>Lead a high-performing design and engineering team to develop sustainable energy systems for Vienna, such as waste-to-energy/biomass power plants, fossil-fuel power plant conversions to clean energy, thermal power plants and sustainable heating /cooling systems</li><li>Utilising engineering expertise in energy transition concepts to accelerate decarbonization efforts locally through smart grids, energy storage solutions/carbon capture utilisation and storage, circular economy projects</li><li>Providing expert technical support and advisory to stakeholders</li><li>Ensuring design consistency and excellence across all projects, maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and attention to detail</li><li>Driving innovation by encouraging creative thinking, staying updated on industry trends, and integrating emerging technologies into innovative project solutions</li></ul><p><strong>Your New Team: </strong> </p><p>You and your team will benefit from promotion of a Scandinavian inspired working culture in a new Austrian joint venture with a high degree of flexibility and an informal and dynamic working environment. </p><p><strong>About You:</strong></p><ul><li>Master’s degree within Engineering, e.g. Electrical/Mechanical/Process/Energy/ Environmental or similar</li><li>Extensive experience within energy systems design with a focus on decarbonisation projects,  e.g. thermal power plant design/construction, clean energy conversions, biomass power plants, waste-to-energy solutions, district heating/cooling sytems</li><li>Demonstrated leadership experience in building and managing design and project management teams within energy transition</li><li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.</li><li>Passion for driving positive environmental impact through innovative and sustainable energy solutions</li><li>Commercial Trading Licence for Austria (preferred)</li></ul><p><strong>Join an empowered and pioneering team</strong> </p><p>Be part of an ambitious team with exciting challenges to solve.
