About the role

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· As a faculty member, fulfills all the functions and responsibilities of teaching the assigned course load as directed by the Program Chair and DOE/Dean.

· Demonstrates excellent teaching qualities and sets a positive example for other faculty regarding appropriate dress, class preparation, punctuality, student assessment and a student-centered approach to classroom instruction.

· Serves as a subject matter expert for students, instructional staff and advisory committees regarding academic curriculum.

· Prepares students for success, and meet the requirements of the regulatory agencies.

· Monitors attendance, SAP and other program data to take necessary corrective action to ensure successful graduation and retention outcomes.

· Coordinates with the Program Chair and DOE/Dean to conduct classroom observations and faculty evaluations when and if necessary.

· Assists the Program Chair and DOE/Dean in the hiring, training, development and supervision of faculty and substitutes to cover classes as needed.

· Works with faculty to provide mentoring for new full-time and part-time faculty.

· Works with faculty to support course consistency in accordance with approved course syllabi and lesson plans.

· Conducts at a minimum, weekly meetings with the faculty in his/her department to identify and intervene with at-risk students, review policies and procedures, and resolve faculty and student issues.

· Ensures faculty support the attainment of department and institutional goals as laid out in the Institutional Assessment and Improvement Plan (IAIP).

· Maintains inventory of equipment, software and supplies in the laboratory and classroom and monitors the cleanliness of the labs/classrooms.

· Monitors classroom/laboratory/range and student safety and immediately documents and reports safety concerns to the Program Chair, DOE/Dean and Campus Director.

· Is aware of the school catalog, faculty handbook and student handbook and understands all the procedures and expectations stated within it, as well as policies stated therein.

· Ensures that evening and weekend student surveys are completed at the end of each course and at other times as necessary.

· Engages in advisory board activities, time permitting and when appropriate, with coordinated effort of Career Services and the DOE/Dean.

· Adheres to and supports school policies and procedures as referenced in the employee handbook, faculty handbook and catalog.

· Attends student orientation when and if available.

· Keeps informed of industry changes through participation in industry events and regular involvement in professional organizations.

· Performs other duties as may be specified by the Program Chair, DOE/Dean or the Campus Director.

· Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

· Supervises evening and weekend staff.

· Teaches classroom, range, and road courses as scheduled.

· Maintains DOT files.

· Maintains Truck files.

· Meets with/ advises students and inputs comments into CampusVue.

 

Skills/Competencies/Qualifications:

· Documented expertise in academic subject area as demonstrated by data sheets, diplomas, transcripts, and licenses certifications.

· Expertise in interpersonal and oral presentation/written communication skills.

· Ability to provide effective direction and leadership and work effectively and collaboratively with others.

· Minimum of 4 years of industry experience.

· Prior postsecondary related teaching experience of at least 2 years a plus.

· Associate degree or higher degree preferred.

· Appropriate licenses and/or certifications depending upon discipline as per accreditation and state licensing standards.

· A minimum of 3 years CDL driving experience

Qualifications

The Weekday CTDT Supervisor oversees and teaches in his/her assigned discipline, works with faculty to promote continuous improvement of the quality of instruction within the assigned program(s), and is the lead administrator for the evening and weekend shifts.
