We are looking for:

  • A Manufacturing Excellence Mechanical Engineer who is focused on the continual improvement of the manufacturing process and maintenance & reliability management and execution at Green River-Wyoming. 
  • The role is to maximize the safety, quality, and performance of the asset base and production process by supporting process improvements with the maintenance and production teams. The focus will be primarily around process improvement, but this role will be expected to work on a variety of cross-functional initiatives and more technical improvement projects. This position will not have any direct reports.

 

We count on you for:

  • Works cross-functionally between reliability, planning, scheduling, warehouse, supervision and production to identify bottlenecks, shortcomings and opportunities to improve the efficiency and efficacy of maintenance work management and execution
  • Implement Solvay’s continuing manufacturing excellence (SolMaX/StarFactory) initiatives on site
  • Support and facilitate asset reliability improvement initiatives (failure mode and effects analysis, root cause analysis, precision maintenance, preventive maintenance optimization (PMO), condition based monitoring programs etc.)
  • Increase work order management (WOM) system efficiency through data analysis, developing plans, delivering training and coaching to process participants, etc.
  • Improve maintenance and operations communication and cooperation and hence maintenance wrench time 
  • Engage with operations team around concepts such as autonomous maintenance, operator excellence, equipment knowledge and care and defect detection and reporting
  • Track production and maintenance performance through audits, assessments, KPIs/metrics
  • Identify improvement opportunities and implement methods to improve maintenance shutdown process,  track shutdown performance

 You will bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial maintenance
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field like Industrial Engineering Major.
  • SAP software advanced experience and/or certification required
  • 5 years experience working in a chemical or mining company; or 3 years multi-national chemical company experience required
  • 3 years experience in performance management, change management and/or project/program management
  • Ability to apply and lead Change Management principles in the people side
  • Safety-mindedness; the ability and willingness to work safely in diverse and hazardous environments
  • Strong understanding of continuous improvement/operational excellence methodologies (i.e. six sigma)
  • Project management/program delivery (resources, actions, timelines, milestones, budgets etc.)
  • Management of Change (MOC) experience
  • A thorough understanding of production and maintenance performance metrics/KPIs
  • Knows how to track and drive improvements, quantify benefits etc.
  • Deep familiarity with the work order management process for maintenance work execution
  • Knowledge of maintenance excellence processes/systems (e.g., precision maintenance, condition based monitoring, lubrication etc.)
  • Understanding of key production processes and best practices for maintenance/operations interaction
  • Must be knowledgeable of mechanical maintenance repair practices and methods
  • Must be knowledgeable of current condition-based and continuous monitoring technologies and their applications
  • Effective written and verbal communication- the drafting and upkeep of maintenance & reliability policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of industrial maintenance gatekeeping, planning and scheduling best practices
  • Deep familiarity with the principles of active supervision
  • Excellent meeting facilitator and note-taker<
