About the role

In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.

  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).

  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.

  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.

  • Federal Work Study student may apply.

  • In good disciplinary standing.

  • Must be located in the U.S.

The Technology Support Font Desk Student Assistant will serve as the initial face-to-face contact to greet and direct visitors to the 3rd floor of 899 Boylston.

This job requires federal work-study eligibility and U.S. domestic status.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work at the front desk for the Technology Training and Support office (3rd floor of 899 Boylston)

  • Direct visitors seeking technical help to the service desk location

  • Alert staff when their scheduled appointments have arrived

  • Hand out computer hardware that has been assigned to a user by staff and update any support ticket that relates to that pickup

  • Answer phone calls to main technology support office line, forward calls or take messages as needed

  • Assist with email distribution of software bundles (Core Software and Major Bundle Packages) during orientation week each semester

  • Escalate support requests to service desk student employees and full-time staff as needed

  • Distribute deliveries to appropriate people/teams, occasionally collect mail from mail room 

  • Alert Service Desk Manager and/or ITS office administrative staff when office supplies are needed (including kitchen supplies, paper, pens, etc)

  • Other duties as assigned

  • This list may be updated as support needs change

  • The ability to gracefully transition from student to College employee and effectively represent Berklee
