Technical Project Manager - Data Management

Summary

Evolver is seeking a skilled Technical Project Manager with a strong focus on data management and analytics within the investment management industry. This role requires a deep understanding of both technical project management principles and the specific data needs and challenges within financial services, particularly in investment management. The ideal candidate will be adept at overseeing complex data-driven projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of solutions that meet regulatory, operational, and strategic requirements. Role is remote, but must have flexibility to accommodate meetings with Pacific time zone and offshore teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Leadership: Lead end-to-end project management for data-focused initiatives within investment management, from initiation to completion.
• Data Strategy: Develop and execute data management strategies that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with stakeholders including portfolio managers, data scientists, compliance officers, and IT teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
• Technology Utilization: Utilize tools such as Jira for project tracking, task management, and agile methodologies.
• Cloud Platform Expertise: Leverage Azure cloud services for data storage, processing, and integration within project workflows.
• Data Warehouse Management: Manage data pipelines and transformations using Snowflake or similar data warehouse platforms.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues related to data quality, data governance, and regulatory compliance; develop mitigation plans and ensure timely resolution.
• Resource Coordination: Allocate resources, monitor progress, and manage budgets to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
• Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data used for investment decision-making.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain project documentation and prepare regular progress reports for stakeholders and senior management.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization of data management practices.

Basic Qualifications:

• 7 years of experience managing complex technical projects and leading cross-functional teams and fostering a collaborative team environment.
• 5 years of experience using Jira
• 3 years of experience working with Azure cloud
• 3 years of experience working with Snowflake
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field or 10 years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10 years of experience managing complex technical projects
• 7 years of experience using Jira
• 5 years of Azure cloud experience
• 5 years of Snowflake experience
• Investment management or financial services industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• PMP or similar project management certification
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements impacting financial data management (e.g., GDPR, SEC regulations).
• Solid understanding of data management principles, database technologies, data warehousing, and data analytics.
