Systems Administrator (AWS GovCloud)

We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to manage and secure enterprise IT systems in a federal agency environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS hosted Windows and/or Linux administration, cybersecurity, security certificate management, and Active Directory, with highly desired experience supporting OpenText ECM platforms. This role requires technical breadth, compliance awareness, and the ability to deliver resilient, secure, and scalable system services aligned with DoD and federal standards.

Job Description

Successful candidates will demonstrate experience in the administration, deployment, and support of enterprise systems across Windows and Linux platforms. Responsibilities include:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows Server and Linux (RedHat, SUSE, or similar) environments.
• Managing Active Directory domains, group policies, and user access controls.
• Administering security certificates, PKI infrastructure, and encryption technologies to safeguard sensitive data.
• Implementing and maintaining cybersecurity controls aligned with DoD and federal agency standards.
• Monitoring and optimizing system performance, availability, and security posture.
• Supporting integrations with enterprise applications, including OpenText ECM (highly desired).
• Collaborating with architects, developers, and security teams to ensure systems meet operational and compliance needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years administering Windows and Linux systems in enterprise or federal environments.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory administration, including domain management, group policies, and authentication.
• Experience with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP, DISA STIGs) and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated expertise in security certificate management and PKI infrastructure.
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud environments (AWS GovCloud preferred).
• Highly desired: experience supporting OpenText ECM platforms.
• Proficiency with monitoring and automation tools (PowerShell, Ansible, CloudWatch, or similar).
• Strong understanding of encryption-at-rest/in-transit and IAM integration.

• Collaborate with technical teams to translate business requirements into secure, scalable system solutions.
• Provision and manage Windows and Linux servers to support enterprise workloads.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring compliance with DoD and federal standards.
• Implement automated patching, backup, and disaster recovery processes.
• Administer and renew security certificates, ensuring PKI compliance.
• Support identity and access management through Active Directory and related technologies.
• Provide technical support to system owners and users, addressing system-related issues.

Education/Certifications

• BS degree in Information Technology or related technical discipline.
• Security+ Certification (required or highly desired).
• Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator or RedHat Certified Engineer (desired).
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator (desired).
