Sustainability Service Corps Program Coordinator

We are looking for a natural leader that is passionate about fighting climate change and thrives as a mentor and relationship builder. You will have the opportunity to engage with innovative projects and stakeholders while supporting up to 45 partner organizations and Fellows.
The Program Coordinator position includes both acting as an advisor (“Regional Supervisor”) for SSC Fellows during their terms, as well as supporting SSC staff in the implementation of the program. The Program Coordinator will continue the demonstrated success of this AmeriCorps program by fulfilling the following primary responsibilities:
- Help implement the program by recruiting, training, supervising, and supporting SSC Fellows throughout California
- Coordinate the Fellowship training program, curate professional development opportunities, and improve the overall Fellowship experience
- Support program development by building and maintaining relationships with partner agencies.

- Annual Pay: $65,000 - $75,000 DOE

Minimum Qualifications
- Located in the San Francisco Bay Area is strongly preferred, must be a permanent resident of California.
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience working directly in areas such as:
- Sustainability program planning/implementation
- Business and communication
- Community-based programs
- Environmental science/education
- Volunteer coordination
- Workforce development
- Exceptional organizational and leadership skills such as:
- Workplace and Professional Skills, such as project management, time management, managing multiple projects at the same time, and great organization skills
- Proficiency with Google Suite and collaborative tools
- Excellent skills in relationship-building and communication
- Mentoring and coaching abilities
- Experience with community outreach, engagement, and recruitment
- Enthusiasm and commitment to climate change mitigation
- Ability to travel (less than 10%) to program events, site visits, and BACR office in El Cerrito, CA.

Responsibilities
- Manage SSC Program Implementation
- Help recruit, select, and place SSC Fellows at partner placements sites
- Support the personal and professional development of each AmeriCorps Member
- Act as Regional Supervisor for around 15 members
- Support members with their transitions after the fellowship and advise their professional development
- Coordinate SSC Training Program
- Create agendas, plan activities, invite guest speakers, and lead monthly Fellow trainings while holding a public speaking role
- Organize and communicate with UC Climate Stewards representatives to implement certification program
- Curate additional professional development opportunities, trainings, and resources for Fellows including planning field trips, growing the career hub resource center, and facilitating affinity spaces and sector groups
- Support Overall SSC Program Development
- Build and maintain current & new relationships between the SSC program, internal and external partners, and placement sites
- Pursue synergies and points of connections with broader SSC program
- Support SSC Social Media Communications
- Monitor SSC’s social media and online presence, including maintenance and updating SSC website
- Maintain an engaging presence on Facebook, Instagram, and other social media outlets
- Write content and create visuals for both print and web including the company website, social media, brochures,etc.
