In the Collins Engineering Laboratory, you'll play a key role in testing and developing products for real-world challenges across areas such as Electric, Environmental & Engine Systems, Propulsion, and Space Systems. As an Engineering Labs Supervisor, you’ll lead a team of technicians who build and operate labs that simulate the environments our products encounter in everyday use.

What You Will Do 

• Manage a team of unionized hourly lab technicians

• Serve as the interface between engineering customers and laboratory engineering staff

• Determine work schedules, job assignments, and allocation of manpower and equipment based on program priorities

• Clearly and effectively communicate vision, direction, goals, and expectations

• Establish standards and expectations for the work effort and performance of direct reports

• Effectively motivate, coach, discipline, and reward team members; manage and resolve conflict

• Take a lead role in driving key performance metrics: delivery, quality, customer satisfaction, financial performance, and EH&S

• Perform administrative functions related to hourly bargaining unit employees, including timekeeping, overtime, training, and performance feedback

• Model and promote Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) policies and goals; ensure EH&S compliance

• Oversee calibration and preventative maintenance programs

Qualifications You Must Have  

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience 

Qualifications We Prefer 

• Familiarity with AS9100 Aerospace Quality System

• Experience with calibration, metrology, and electronic test equipment

• Supervisory and quality engineering experience

• Proven ability to build strong relationships across business units

• Skilled in prioritizing and managing multiple projects at once
