Duties, Responsibilities & Other
- Must have 10+ years in managing basic contracts, fee estimation, project set-up and execution of work. It is preferred though not required that the candidate have an understanding of the Standard Guideline for the Collection and Depiction of Existing Subsurface Utility Data as outlined in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 38-02 and 38-22 .
- Target candidate will have the overall responsibility for securing and delivering profitable projects pertaining to Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE).
- Responsible for staff development, project execution, and procurement of work.
- Assists in sales activities and effectively establishes and maintains good long-term relationships with strategic clients.
- Regularly interfaces with existing and potential clients to secure new assignments.
- Participates in the quarterly review meetings, monthly operating meetings and is otherwise responsible for setting and meeting the financial performance goals of the Practice.
- Prepares technical and fee proposals.
- Oversees all business operations for efficiency, accuracy and compliance with, policies and procedures.
- Analyzes backlog, resources and sales to determine priorities and needs and coordinates with Regional Practice Leader to secure necessary resources and equipment.
- Must be a highly self-motivated dynamic individual.
- Serves as a Practice Leader in the designated Discipline.
- Directly reports to South Regional Practice Leader.
- Good communication, supervisory and mentoring skills, reliable, attention to details and accuracy are necessary.
- Valid driver's license required to travel as needed to project sites.
- Performs QA/QC reviews for project or task deliverables
- Target candidate will be required working with office CAD and Survey staff to complete project deliverables.
- Complete Annual individual Training Program
- Complete other duties as required/assigned
- Service as project manager on select projects
- Provide technical project and staff oversight
- Provide monthly project updates to project analysts
- Provide monthly WIP/AR comments to the operation manager
- Provide project and clients leads to other regional practice leaders to grow their regional practices
- Negotiate scope, schedule, and fee estimates for large and significant projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 -15 years of professional experience.
- Appropriate professional certification preferred.
- Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

- Prepare and deliver timely annual employee performance appraisals for assigned staff
- Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence
